4 March 2010, Aleksander Buwelski, Szczecin Deputy Mayor for economy replaced Krzysztof Nowak.

Aleksander Buwelski is 35. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Szczecin. He completed post-graduate studies at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (banking and finance), Warsaw School of Economics (accounting), Poznan University of Economics (MBA with Georgia State University. USA).

In 1998-2000 he was employed at the Tax Control Office in Szczecin. In 2001-2002 he was the Director of the Organizational Team at the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture in Warsaw. In 2003-2006 he was the President of the Management Board of EMKA in Koszalin. Next, until December 2009, he worked on the position of commercial manager at Multi Development Poland Sp. z o.o. and was responsible for preparation of the opening and management of the Forum Koszalin shopping centre and acquisition of land for property development investments. Forum Koszalin is the largest commercial investment in Koszalin worth over EUR 100 million. Since June 2008, he has been the chairman of the supervisory board of Szczecin Renovation Centre (Szczecińskie Centrum Renowacyjne).

Aleksander Buwelski is a member of the Civic Platform (PO). He is a Councillor of the West Pomeranian Regional Parliament and since 2003, a member of the National Council of PO and member of the Regional Board of PO.

He was born in Stargard Szczeciński where he still lives with his wife and two sons. His hobbies include sailing, photography, travelling and books.
